Colorado Rockies outfielder Jordan Beck was given the Abby Greer Award as Spring Training MVP on Sunday. The award is given to developing prospects who are making an impact at camp. The No. 81 prospect on the MLB Pipeline Top 100 Prospects list has surely made his case on how he can impact the Rockies in the near future. Colorado has been impressive all throughout spring with a 16-11 record. It’s enough to be in second in the Cactus League behind the 14-5 Los Angeles Dodgers. Beck’s success this spring indicates that he is projected to make his big league debut in 2025. If he keeps performing as he’s been this early, there is a solid chance that the young promising outfielder is competing for a daily starting spot out in the outfield.

Jordan Beck Continues to Impress

Through 18 spring training games, Beck has been to bat 27 times. He’s recorded 10 hits, two of those hits being doubles and a stolen base. Also, he had seven runs batted in, while being walked three times. Although he has struck out 13 times, he has an impressive .370 batting average. The young promising outfielder has a .433 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .519. Finally, he has an on-base plus slugging percentage of .952.

During the Rockies first four games of spring action, Beck recorded at least one hit. On March 4, during a matchup against the San Francisco Giants, Beck had a double in which two runs scored. He also had a walk, and a stolen base in a 12-10 win. There are plenty of great young prospects who’ve shown off their talents, but Beck was given the award thanks his fantastic play at such a young age. A determined player like Sean Bouchard isn’t going to let a starting spot in the outfield come so easy for the young promising outfielder. However, if Beck continues to impress Rockies management, the team may need to figure out a way to bring him on the 40-man roster earlier than expected.
